Enter any GSTIN to decode registration details and check status. Always verify your supplier's GST registration before processing payment — invalid GSTINs mean invalid ITC claims.
0/15 characters
Every month, thousands of businesses receive ASMT-10 scrutiny notices because they claimed ITC on invoices from suppliers whose GST registration was cancelled or suspended. The sad part? Most of them didn't even know.
When GST officers do their quarterly data reconciliation, they match your ITC claims against your suppliers' filed returns. If your supplier's registration is invalid — even if they issued a proper-looking invoice — your ITC gets disallowed. You then owe the tax amount plus 24% interest per annum.
This tool helps you verify format and decode GSTIN details in seconds. For live active/cancelled/suspended status, we link you directly to the official GST portal verification.
Active
Registration is valid and current. The business can legally issue GST invoices and collect tax. ITC claims from this GSTIN are safe.
Cancelled
Registration permanently revoked. Could be voluntary (owner applied) or by department order. Cannot collect GST. Do not claim ITC.
Suspended
Temporary block, usually for non-filing of returns. The registration can be reactivated. Do not claim ITC until status is Active again.
Provisional
Old registration from GST migration period. These have largely been regularised. Verify on portal before claiming ITC.
